Take Action Now: Oppose LB 258

Lawmakers this session have introduced several bills that would reverse portions of voter-approved ballot measures. One bill could be up for first round debate as soon as next week, so senators need to hear from you!

Introduced and now prioritized by Senator Jane Raybould, LB 258 would limit the minimum wage increase passed by nearly 60% of voters in 2022 and also create a sub-minimum wage for anyone under 20—meaning workers 19 or younger would make less than other workers simply because of their age.

TAKE ACTION NOW!
Call or email your senator today to OPPOSE LB 258.

Before November 2022, Nebraska’s minimum wage was stuck at $9/hour for more than six years. Hardworking Nebraskans shouldn’t have to struggle to make ends meet. Our communities can thrive when everyone is paid enough to cover their bills and have a chance at achieving their dreams.

Today is a recess day at the Nebraska Legislature and so it’s the perfect opportunity to contact your senator directly to OPPOSE LB 258.

Your message can be as simple or as detailed as you’d like but your senator needs to hear from you! Tell them why you oppose carving out exceptions for young workers, why you voted to raise the minimum wage when it was on the ballot and you want them to listen to voters, or share your story about what it means to you to be able to earn a fair wage. More about how to use your voice to advocate for bills (English / Spanish).

Let’s work together to ensure all working Nebraskans are supported!
