Let’s show up in support of reproductive freedom and abortion access for all Nebraskans.
Two legislative resolutions, LR18CA and LR19CA, have been proposed with the intent to amend the state constitution to protect the right to reproductive freedom, including abortion care. This is the next step in ensuring that all Nebraskans can access the health care they need without further political interference.
Both resolutions will be heard by the Health and Human Services Committee this Thursday, March 16 beginning at 1:30 pm. Proponents for protecting reproductive freedom will get to speak first. If you haven’t yet had a chance to testify in front of this committee, now is the time!
>> Testify in-person. The Health & Human Services Committee will hear testimony from Nebraskans on LR18CA and LR19CA this Thursday, March 16 starting at 1:30 pm.
>> If you can’t make it in person, submit online comments as a proponent by noon on March 15 to be included on the record.
- How to submit online comments
- Submit comments as a proponent for LR18CA
- Submit comments as a proponent for LR19CA
- Now, forward this note to five of your friends so they can take action, too!
>> Keep contacting your senator to oppose LB 626 (a six-week abortion ban), LB 810 (would allow medical providers to deny care and discriminate against patients) and any further restrictions on abortion care that attempt to take away personal health care decisions from Nebraskans. It is important that every senator hears from Nebraskans!
A reminder that you have the human right to bodily autonomy. Being trans or pregnant doesn’t change that. Keep speaking out on these issues. It will take all of us, showing up and using our voices at every step to protect our freedoms and our rights!
