Women's Fund 20th Anniversary

The Women's Fund celebrated 20 years of leading change for Omaha-area women and girls in 2010.

Women's Fund History

It was 1990 when a small group of visionary women leaders met to explore the need for a women’s fund in Omaha. They discussed the possibilities, the needs and what they envisioned the organization might become. Twenty years later, the Women’s Fund of Omaha serves as the collective voice and primary champion for positive change for Omaha-area women and girls. Since its inception, the Women’s Fund has invested more than $2.5 million in grants and projects that are focused on their needs.

“I believe some of our problems are the same problems, but we have made a lot of strides in tweaking those problems for the better,” says Gail Walling Yanney, first chair of the Women’s Fund board.
